Wesley Warnhoff

American clarinetist Wesley Warnhoff’s “thoughtful, effortless, and intense” performance style (NPR Radio) has earned him international acclaim as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber performer. Wes won the top prize at the White Lake International Concerto Competition and is the former principal clarinetist of the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra. He currently serves as Associate Teaching Professor of Clarinet at the University of Missouri, is a member of the Missouri Quintet, and performs with the Missouri Symphony Orchestra. Wes can be heard on his recent album with MSR Classics, The Talea Trio: 5 Trios for Oboe, Clarinet, and Piano, in which his playing is described as “deeply poignant” (Atlanta Audio Club). Wes earned his Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Michigan State University, where he studied with Dr. Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr. He is also a performing artist for Backun Musical Services.
